Minehead & District Lifeboat Guild

The Guild is a Voluntary organisation that was originally set up by the crew members wives. Their purpose was to keep the crew happy by knitting socks, jumpers and scarves. As time went on they started to sell their products to make money for the Station.

Now the Guild holds a number of different events to raise money for the RNLI and have over 75 volunteers.

The Guild's main responsibility is the running of the RNLI shop located in the boathouse. Here they sell the official RNLI souvenirs on one side of the shop, and on the other side donated items like books and knitted goods. The shop is open from Good Friday until the end of October from 11am to 5pm every day. Please note that items can not be purchased by mail order.

Members of the Guild also take the souvenirs from the shop to local fairs and carnivals to sell on a RNLI stall.

The Guild also organises the main street and house collections every year during flag week.

The RNLI is a voluntarily run organisation, and thanks to the dedicated hard work and effort put in by the volunteers large amounts of funds are raised each year. The crew would like to use this page to express their thanks to the Guild for all that they do.
