The crew of the Minehead Lifeboat invites you to enter a raft race, which is being held on Sunday 30th August 2009 starting at 2.30pm.
As in previous years the rafts taking the shortest time to complete the correct course will win the 2009 race. The raft race committee intend to start the 3 races in two parts this year. The majority of rafts will start at the official time of 2.30p.m and will start either from Blue Anchor Beach as in previous years or from the fun and fancy dress starting point at Minehead Beach in front of East entrance of Butlins.The small group of rafts that consistently finish with the fastest previous events times, will be started from Blue Anchor Beach 15 minutes later.
Please read and fully understand the 2009 rules carefully, as failure to comply with any of them will result in disqualification. We must emphasise the importance of rule 7, for safety and to help the commentator identify your raft at a distance so he can keep the public informed of your rafts progress. Rule 6 should also be kept in mind when completing your entry form.
Starting positions will be allocated in order of completed entry forms returned to the address given on the entry form. Please note that PERSONS responsible for returning the completed forms are also RESPONSIBLE for seeing that all the raft crew HAVE READ THE RULES of the race.

Please complete the Entry Form and return it as soon as possible, enclosing a cheque or money order totalling £4.00 per each person on your raft crew. The enclosed sponsor form should be used to help raise funds for the Minehead R.N.L.I. Raft Race Trust, which of course is the main purpose of the race.
Due to the overwhelming success of previous Fireworks Dispalys we are again repeating the event at 9:30pm.
